Ciara Joy
PRESIDENT
I am a senior studying Real Estate and Architectural Design, with a passion for real estate that began with residential properties. Growing up in a large extended Filipino family, I learned early that “home” is wherever my family gathers. However, with over 50 relatives attending our gatherings, finding spaces to host everyone has always been challenging. In middle school, I took it upon myself to start researching listings, comparing amenities, and dreaming of one day owning a place big enough for us all—until I discovered loan annuities and credit requirements.
While I build my credit and save for a down payment, I’m focused on making a positive impact in the communities around me. This commitment drives my role as Undergraduate President of the Real Estate Club, where I’m honored to help peers access the club’s many opportunities. Beyond this, I also serve as a First-Year Interest Group Leader. Over the summer, I gained hands-on experience as a Project Engineer for a general contractor, contributing to a tenant improvement project. My goal is to make an impact in the industry by creating spaces that bring communities together.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest and spending time with my seven siblings.

Jonathan Nguyen
VICE PRESIDENT
I’m a second-year finance student at the University of Washington, currently working as an Investment Intern at HAL Real Estate, where I focus on gathering market data and handling various ad hoc tasks. My strong interest in commercial real estate comes from the idea that the projects we build contribute to a greater environment—one that fosters collaboration and interaction.
Previously, I interned as a development intern at Edge Developers, where I assisted in underwriting a LIHTC transit-oriented development project, updated draw schedules, and conducted punch walks. I also held a research position with Professor Acolin in the Runstad Department, exploring private and public initiatives to help homeowners build wealth through the development of dwelling units.
Through the club, I aim to help create a space where big ideas can come to life and connect students with the visionaries behind some of the most exciting projects in the greater Seattle area! -

Blake Hardison
SPEAKER CHAIR
I am the Speaker Chair for the UW Real Estate club, a role with a very strong foundation, and one which I’m excited to continue building upon. As a senior, the UW Real Estate Club has perfectly complimented my studies as a RE major/business minor. Upon joining this club my freshman year, I was quickly immersed into a group of students who shared my goal of pursuing a career in Real Estate. Most of what I’ve accomplished can, in some way, be traced back to a connection made through this club which I am extremely grateful for. This past summer, I interned with CBRE where I learned from some of the PNW’s top producing brokers. Exposure to the entire sales process of both institutional and private capital multifamily properties has rapidly accelerated my interest in capital markets and our industry as a whole. I love spending my free time on the lacrosse field with UW’s club team, going to concerts, camping, and fly-fishing. Originally from Orange County, California, I’ve been enjoying all that the PNW has to offer!
